ABOUT ME

Hello, my name is Shai Friedland.

I am a qualified Clinical Psychologist registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA), consulting in Johannesburg, from a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) approach.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) allows for a structured, solution focused treatment directed toward modifying dysfunctional thinking and the behaviour behind adults, teens and children’s difficulties.

I consult in private practice alongside a group of specialist CBT therapists, with my role focused toward treating Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Anxiety Disorders, Trichotillomania (Hair Pulling Disorder), Excoriation (Skin-Picking Disorder), Tic Disorders, Tourette’s Disorder, Hoarding Disorder, Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD), Weight Loss Management and Sports Psychology – both in an individual and group context.

Often the decision to start therapy is a difficult one and finding a therapist can be daunting, however I encourage you to take the first step, by booking a consultation to discuss the process.
